Product Overview

Type: Black
Packaging: Bag
Origin: China
Description:
Yunnan is a region in China known for producing excellent black tea. Yunnan black is famous for its fat golden buds and our Yunnan Black Tea has a high concentration of these golden buds. Tea brewed from our Yunnan Black Tea has a reddish brown color. The aroma is strong sugary and floral with a slight roasted undertone. The taste is smooth and sweet and the aftertaste is refreshing and clean.

During third century BC, the central area of Yunnan, around present day Kunming (major city), was known as 'Dian'. The name Dian Hong means "Yunnan Black tea". Often Yunnan black teas are referred to as Dian Hong teas. Yunnan black teas vary in their flavor and appearance.

This tes ia made of selected organic spring golden buds and buds and one-leaf from 2000 meters high mountain in Fengqing, Yunnan. This is an elegant tea in appearance and taste. The slender leaves are actually slender buds – sweet and delicious – that are each covered in a downy felt which signifies an early spring pluck. It has an enticing aroma, reminiscent of darkly-roasted coffee or bitter chocolate.

Brewing Guide: Use a heaping teaspoon for 8oz of water. Steep at 195-205° F for 2-3 minutes. For a stronger flavor, use slightly more tea leaves. For each subsequent brew, steep for 30 seconds each time.

    Elegant, delicious tea

The first thing you notice about this tea is it’s beautiful appearance, with the downy leaves that are beautifully curled unlike the picture that’s supposed to represent this tea on the website. The next thing you notice is the aroma, which hints at the deep chocolate and cocoa notes that are revealed as soon as you infuse this tea. Drinking the tea shows you the depth of flavor, the lingering aroma, and the smoothness of this full-flavored Dian Hong. Having sampled several varieties of Dian Hong from Dragon Tea House, I have come to the conclusion that you can’t go wrong with any of their offerings. However, this tea is a clear cut above and a premium product whose quality makes it an absolute bargain for the price that they offer.
