Product Overview

Huang Guan Yin (Yellow Goddess of Mercy), the newest member of Wuyi Yancha family, is a cross-bred/hybrid tea varietal developed by the Tea Research Institute, Fujian Academy of Agricultural in 1980s. It is a hybrid of two teas: Tieguanyin (Iron Goddess) and Huang Jingui (Golden Osmanthus). Iron Goddess is celebrated for its fantastic aroma, while Golden Osmanthus is remembered for its sweet, honeyed taste. This Jipin grade Huang Guanyin tea marries the two, and being an Wuyi tea, is roasted using the traditional method.

This tea is featured with its sweet flavor, floral aroma and long finish. Different from common Huang Guan Yin which is processed using light fire, ours is roasted with medium fire. It is made in the traditional charcoal roasting Yancha production way in the long, twisted leaf style. This tea introduces complexity and richness to balance the high flying aromatics of this cultivar. The result is rich, deep and creamy but at the same time flowery and fruity.

Brewing Guide: Note the following key features of this tea,

* Tea-Water Ratio: 1:4

* Water Temperature: 100°C

* Steeping Time: 30-45 seconds

* Number of Infusions: 6-8

* Use a Yixing teapot to bring out the best in our Wuyi Rock tea.

* Combine properly. It is the right combination of tea leaves, water temperature and brewing time. that results in a good cup of tea. Keep in mind that Kung Fu Cha offers an advantage over other brewing - higher water temperature.
